A CHIEF’S FIJI FLY WHISK

Fly whisks were being used around the world in Old Persia as early as 500 BC, in Egypt, Africa and India as well the islands of Samoa, Tonga and Fiji. This Fiji fly whisk was a representative symbol of chiefly rank. It has been incorporated into the Pacific Islands culture in relation to dominance, leadership and royal power.
