A HOPI TABLITA DANCE WAND

Provenance: Private Dutch collection.

This head decoration called “Tablita” is worn by a female during a dance following the Katsina dance season. The Tablita is covered with rain symbols.

Generally, dance tablitas are made by male members of a family for use by a female member.
