In Africa, the slingshot was and is still used for the hunt of smaller prey to supplement the diet.
Slingshots are among an array of objects of miniature art in which, the adorning enhances the aesthetics of this utilitarian object, also considered by the hunter to be a talisman.
This old, tribal used and richly patinated Dogon slingshot depicts a male figure and is finely detailed in an individualistic style.
