SEPIK JANUS ANCESTOR MALE FIGURES

Two male figures in one statue.
In collections you often see small figures from the coast or from villages near the mouth of the Ramu or Sepik River. These figures have hook shaped noses, the symbol of masculinity.
These two men carry a kind of dish (restored) on their heads probably used to mix pigments.
