A COLLECTION OF DAYAK AMULETS

Figurines, Hampatongs were used by the Dayak as amulets. Some were kept in the home as ‘divine gifts’ to bring luck and good health, while others were attached to baby carriers, or strung across the healer’s chest when he performed healing rituals, to serve as protective charms against evil and illness.
